IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE
You LOVE your kids and want them to be safe. So do we! That’s why we’ve recalled all our Luxe Satin Kid’s Robes. You know the ones, they look a bit like a smoking jacket for babies, with our luxurious faux fur interior and silky satin exterior. They’re a photo op, and great for hanging by the pool and perfect for a mommy and me spa day. The CPSC has decided to qualify them for stringent sleepwear flammability testing, and they don’t pass.
No baby or child has ever been injured by this product or any other Little Giraffe product. But, on the off chance that you missed the sewn in label that clearly states Not Intended for Sleepwear or the big yellow hang tag that lets you know not to put your child to bed in this robe because it does not qualify for sleepwear flammability testing, we are recalling the 2000 or so that were sold over the past five years.
We’re sorry. We know it’s a hassle. But we are standing by and will joyfully send you a postage paid return label, and once we receive the return, we will credit you for your purchase. Hey, we'll even throw in a 20% discount code to purchase anything else you like on our site. Because we LOVE you. And your kids. And they deserve the absolute softest, most luxurious products on planet earth.
In an effort to make this process as hassle-free as possible, we have provided a link on the Product Recall page for Consumer Recall Registration. Simply fill in the form and we will process your recall and send you a postage paid shipping label. Once received, please return your item for a full refund. We will also email you with a 20% off promo code for your next purchase on our website.
THIS RECALL IS BEING CONDUCTED IN COOPERATION WITH THE U.S. CONSUMER PRODUCT SAFETY COMMISSION.
What is being recalled?
As part of the CPSC’s general review, we discovered that one style of our children’s robes was classified as sleepwear, and did not meet the federal flammability standards for children’s sleepwear. Since the safety of our customers is our highest priority, we are voluntarily recalling the style that has been identified, the Kid’s Luxe Satin Robe. Please note that all Kid’s Luxe Satin Robes sold were clearly marked Not Intended for Sleepwear on a sewn in label inside the robe, and were also accompanied by a hang tag stating the same. No other Luxe Satin products, and no other Little Giraffe products, are involved in this recall. Because the Luxe Satin Robe was recently reclassified by the CPSC, we just learned it did not meet the increased testing standards. As soon as we were informed, we reached out to all our customers and participated in the recall.
Are blankets being recalled?
No blankets are being recalled.
Little Giraffe is fully compliant with all required testing and we take the safety and quality of all our products very seriously. All Little Giraffe blankets and other products meet and exceed regulatory requirements for babies and children and are not included in this recall.
We have rigorous testing standards in place throughout the product development process with our vendors. Our tests are conducted by third party laboratories accredited by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The testing requirements are different for wearable sleepwear than for blankets. Blankets are not attached to the body as wearable sleepwear would be in the case of a fire so they are easily shaken off.
Will the Children’s Luxe Satin Robe ever be available for sale again?
Now that the classification of this product has been elevated to the more rigorous testing required for sleepwear, it is unlikely that we will meet the standard without the application of flame retardant chemicals. Since flame retardant chemicals interfere with the luxurious softness of our products, and the safest luxury and softness is our goal, we have discontinued this product from the line.
Is the Adult Luxe Satin Robe being recalled?
No. The sleepwear flammability requirement only affects the children’s robe.
Have there been any reported injuries?
No. The Little Giraffe brand has never been associated with any injuries.
How are you notifying customers?
We are reaching out directly to all customers who purchased the Children’s Luxe Satin Robe and are accepting returns and providing a full refund. When you contact us, we will send a prepaid postage label to make the return as easy as possible.
What do I receive for returning the recalled items?
Once the recalled items are received, Little Giraffe will credit the full purchase price, as well as issue a gift code for 20% off your next purchase on our direct website. www.littlegiraffe.com

My child has been wearing the recalled product. Are there any health concerns with the material?
Exposure to the material does not present any concern whatsoever. In fact, none of our products are treated with flame retardant chemicals because we believe that they interfere with the luxurious softness of our products, and may pose other health concerns for babies and children. Because safety is a paramount concern at Little Giraffe, we have always indicated on a sewn in label and with a hangtag that this product is Not Intended for Sleepwear. Due to the recent reclassification of the product by the CPSC as sleepwear, the testing standard was elevated and we have chosen to participate in a recall of this style.
